Presentation of Qourratou-l-‘ouyoun moutouns

This Matn written in the form of a poem is taught at Dar El Hikma. It is a text of 150 verses divided in thirty-five chapters. Al-ajuroomiya gathers all the basic rules of the Arabic grammar (An-nahu). This science, centered on the ending of the words (the last letters), is essential because it enables the learner to understand the Qur’an and the Hadiths. It also equips the learner to avoid errors which could modify the meaning of a word or even a sentence. The knowledge of this science is essential in order to be able to speak Arabic. This is why the Emir of the believers, Omar Ibn Al Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: " Study grammar rules as you learn the Sunnah and the laws of Inheritance" (Bahjatu Al-majalis of Ibn Abdalbar, may Allah grant him mercy).

written in the form of poem, this Matn enables students to acquire vocabulary in an original way. Students will memorise words made of the same letters; the only difference being the Harakat of the first letter (changing a Harakat for another meaning). Students will in fact memorise three different words for the same combination of letters. This matn includes a total of 3x32 words.

written in the form of poem, this Matn, is focused on the "conjugation" (As-sarf). This science enables learners to decline words according to accurate rules. Through this book pupils will study the construction of the words. This science enables you to find a verb from a noun and a noun from a verb. Finding the roots of the words will allow you to understand them better, to assimilate them better and to use them correctly. This science is so important that many scholars, such as Ibn Faris (may Allah have mercy upon him), never stopped repeating that " if a person does not study As-sarf, then he has missed everything ".

this poem is a call to good behaviour. Through this Matn, the author advises the whole community regarding the best behaviour to adopt towards parents, close friends, teachers, scholars, guests, as well as regarding the way to behave within the circles of science.

Among all sciences related to the Arabic language, the science of eloquence (Al Balagha) is one of the most extraordinary topics. This text book covers all the rules related to the place of the words within a sentence. This science which is less and less taught over the world, enables the learner to have a different understanding of the Qur’an. It enables the learner to understand why Allah removed or added a word within a verse or the reason why a word has been given precedence over another. This science enables the believer to strengthen their relation with the book of Allah. Abu Hilal el Askari said: “know that the best of sciences to teach and to study after the knowledge of Allah, the Magnificent is indeed the science of eloquence and rhetoric, with which we contemplate the miracles of the book of Allah the Highest.”

This text book of approximately 240 verses enables the learner to apply all the notions covered in the previous text books. The theme of this poem is the principles of jurisprudence (Usool el Fiqh). It enables the learner to acquire the necessary tools for the comprehension of the Qur’an and Hadeeth. By using this science, we understand how scholars extracted from both scared sources (Qur’an and Hadeeth) the rules which govern the daily life of Muslims; ie: what is obligatory and what is prohibited as well as what is recommended and what is disliked.
